George Bush International Airport is app. 60 minutes from campus, depending on traffic. It's larger, so some of you may require using it, which is fine too. Here's the airport information:
William P. Hobby Airport is just 15 minutes south of downtown and serves more than 8 million passengers annually. With it’s four runways, Hobby Airport is the 43rd busiest airport in the United States for total passengers.
The George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is located 22 miles north of downtown Houston and is the 15th busiest airport in the nation for total passengers. The airport has four terminals, 19000 parking spaces in around the airport and serves more than 28 million passengers annually.

Professional Group Leaders
The following will be traveling to the Houston externship to be vital small group leaders.
Jeff Hickey
I am a social worker in private practice in Chicago and Evanston, IL where I work with couples and individuals. After working for many years in a systemic-cognitive approach with couples (with inconsistent results) I learned of Sue Johnson's work and was immediately attracted to its active, empathic and research-validated model. I attended Sue Johnson's basic and advanced externships and subsequently received eft supervision from Brent Bradley and Alison Lee. I've has also trained with Les Greenberg in his model of individual EFT.
Nicholas A. Lee, M.A.
Individual, Couple, & Family Therapist
I was first introduced to Emotionally Focused Therapy in graduate school, where I studied under Brent. I was drawn to EFT because of it's grounding in attachment processes, which was already an interest of mine prior to learning the model. I found EFT to be one of only a few theories of psychotherapy that had a clear map for understanding what tears couples apart and how to help them find one another again. Since graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University I have worked with couple's and families from within this model and have had tremendous success. I am currently employed at Anderson University, where I work with college age students in their counseling center. In addition to my responsibilities at AU I see individuals, couples, and families at a small private practice, Still Waters Professional Counseling LLC, where I regularly work from within the model.
In the coming year Nick will face Brent in the Octagon to determine who is the Ultimate EFT Therapist. Jim Furrow will officiate this match.
Paula Zerfoss, LCSW, LISW, MSW
I took the EFT Externship with Dr. Brent Bradley and Dr. Jim Furrow in April, 2005, and have taken two Advanced externshipss and a series of Core Skills workshops. I practice almost exclusively with couples in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I am currently the only Registered EFT therapist practicing in New Mexico, and the only EFT therapist in Santa Fe. I love working within this framework, because it helps me to serve couples who might otherwise appear to be intractable. However, the further I have gone into the study of this theory, the more I have found that I have yet to learn!.

Externship Participant Comments:
I loved this externship. It was a missing piece for me.
Thank you so much! This week was amazing, I learned a lot, felt a lot and want to know a lot more. Thanks for your professionalism and for fostering an atmosphere that was safe, fun, and empowering. Can't wait for what's next!
What I really appreciated was that the instructors really believe in the model, and really want us to get it. They are very supportive! Thank you!
This program has been invaluable to me in so many ways that are just becoming evident to me. I feel it will enrich my clinical work both individually as well as with couples. I am excited about being able to try some/all of these techniques- and making them mine. I look forward to this deepening my ability to work with affect and I think all of you for your excellent course so focused on helping me (us) to see and remain present with affect and attachment issues.
This was a great learning experience. Jim and Brent made a safe, comfortable space to explore and practice new counseling skills. I felt positively inspired to continue on the road to mastering this powerful new model of couples therapy. I believe I can start putting their techniques into practice right away, even though it certainly takes time to achieve true mastery of EFT.
Subject is of paramount importance for today's couples and families. Model has the power to create new interactions. Instruction has high pedagogic quality (e.g. demos, role plays - each participant takes a turn being a therapist, video clips, humor, group discussions). I have not been to a better training seminar.
The very best training I've had in any therapy. I love this model. I want to make the heart and soul of my practice. The live sessions with blow by blow explanation were so informative. They make the model come alive. Practicing in groups was super. I want more to really get it.
I loved the format of the training and found the interactive aspects very helpful. Thank you for creating a very rich and fun experience for us. I enjoyed the energy in the room.
I thought this was the best seminar I have ever attended. It was well-prepared, very interesting, a well-thought-out pace, fun and challenging. Thank you so much!
One of the best conferences I have ever attended - well organized. With didactic and exporiented balanced. Brent and Jim are fantastic presenters and so personable. They generate positive energy for the group which is both exciting and builds enthusiasm for EFT. Thanks so much for the great 4 days.
